છેલ્લા 21 વર્ષમાં પ્રથમ વખત એવું બનશે કે મે મહિનામાં કોઈ ચક્રવાતી તોફાન ગુજરાતના કાંઠે પહોંચશે. એક રિપોર્ટ મુજબ મે મહિનામાં છેલ્લે 2011માં ગુજરાતના તટે પહોંચનારું વાવાઝોડું ARB O1 હતું.
અરબ સાગર પર સર્જાયેલું લો પ્રેશરનું ક્ષેત્ર 16 મે એટલે કે રવિવારે ચક્રવાતી તોફાનમાં બદલાઈ શકે છે. એક પૂર્વાનુમાન મુજબ દક્ષિણ પૂર્વ અરબ સાગર અને લક્ષદ્વીપ વિસ્તારમાં બની રહેલું આ વાવાઝોડું શનિવાર સવાર સુધી તો વિસ્તારમાં લો પ્રેશરમાં તબદિલ થઈ જશે. તેના 24 કલાક બાદ વાવાઝોડાનું સ્વરૂપ લેશે. હવામાન વિભાગ અનુસાર તેના ઉત્તર-ઉત્તર પશ્ચિમ ગુજરાત અને પાકિસ્તાની તટ તરફ વધવાની સંભાવના છે. 18 મે સુધી આ વાવાઝોડું ગુજરાતના દરિયાકિનારા સુધી પહોંચી શકે છે.
21 વર્ષમાં પ્રથમ વખત બનશે આવું
છેલ્લા 21 વર્ષમાં પ્રથમ વખત એવું બનશે કે કોઈ વાવાઝોડું મે મહિનામાં ત્રાટકશે. એક રિપોર્ટ મુજબ મે મહિનામાં છેલ્લે 2011માં ગુજરાતના તટે પહોંચનારું વાવાઝોડું ARB O1 હતું. આ વાવાઝોડાની અસર 2001માં 21 મેથી લઈને 28 મે સુધી જોવા મળી હતી. તે સમયે અત્યંત ગંભીર વાવાઝોડું હતુ જે 22 મે 2001 સોમાલિયાના તટ પર વિકાસ થયો હતો. 215 કિ.મીની ઝડપથી ચાલતી હવાઓ સાથે તે અરબ સાગરનું સૌથી મજબૂત અને ખતરનાક વાવાઝોડું હતું. જો કે 2007માં સુપર સાઈક્લોન ગોનુએ તેને પછાડ્યું હતું. ગુજરાત પહોંચનારું અંતિમ ચક્રવાત ARB O1 ઉત્તરી અરબ સાગરમાં ગુજરાત તટથી નબળું પડી ગયું હતું.
હૅલિકોપ્ટરથી સાયરન વગાડી કરાયા અલર્ટ
તૌકતે વાવાઝોડાના પગલે કોસ્ટગાર્ડ સહિતની સુરક્ષા એજન્સીઓ અલર્ટ થઈ ગઈ છે. જેના પગલે પોરબંદરમાં કોસ્ટગાર્ડ દ્વારા લોકોને સાવચેત કરવા માટે માધવપુર ગામમાં હેલિકોપ્ટરનો ઉપયોગ કરાયો હતો. હેલિકોપ્ટરમાં સાયરન વગાડી લોકોને સાવચેત રહેવા અપીલ કરરવામાં આવી હતી. જ્યારે માધવપુર સહિતના દરિયાઈ વિસ્તારોમાં ખાસ કરીને માછીમારોને દરિયો ન ખેડવાની સૂચના આપવામાં આવી હતી.
સૌરાષ્ટ્રમાં વાતાવરણ પલટાથી ભારે વરસાદ શરૂ
તૌકતે વાવાઝોડા પહેલાં જ સૌરાષ્ટ્રના વાતાવરણમાં પલટો જોવા મળી રહ્યો છે. રાજકોટ અને અમરેલીના ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારોમાં વાતાવરણ પોતાનો મિજાજ બદલી રહ્યો છે. અમરેલીના સાવરકુંડલામાં પવન સાથે ભારે વરસાદ શરૂ થયો છે. જેના પગલે ભર ઉનાળે ચોમાસા જેવો માહોલ સર્જાયો છે. અમરેલીના સરસિયા અને ધારીના ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારમાં પણ વરસાદી વાતાવરણ સર્જાયું છે. ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારમાં ફરી કમોસમી વરસાદથી ખેડૂતોની ચિંતા વધી છે. આ તરફ રાજકોટના ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારમાં પણ વાતાવરણમાં પલટો જોવા મળ્યો હતો. રાજકોટના કાલાવડ રોડ પર આવેલા વાજડી વડ ગામ નજીક ધૂળની ડમરીઓ ઉડી હતી ઉપરાંત બેડી, હડમતિયા, ગવરિદડ પંથકમાં વરસાદ પણ પડ્યો હતો.
બીજી બાજુ અમરેલીના સાવરકુંડલામાં પણ પવન સાથે વરસાદ શરૂ થયો છે. જેના કારણે ખેડૂતોની ચિંતામાં વધારો થયો હતો કારણ કે ઊભા પાકને નુકસાન થવાની આશંકા છે. ધારી સહિત ગ્રામ્ય વિસ્તારોમાં વરસાદને કારણે કેરી સહિતના મહત્વના પાકને નુકસાન થવાનો ભય સેવાઈ રહ્યો છે. અમરેલીના સરસિયાના વિસ્તારમાં રોડ-રસ્તા પણ પાણી વહેવાના દ્રશ્યો સર્જાયા હતા.
