Home learning is an activity that a child is asked to complete outside of the school day, either by themselves or with an adult. Home learning can range from reading a book about a particular subject to completing a research project. We believe that a child's home is a powerful learning environment so we encourage children to collaborate with their families to carry out these activities.
We know that as parental engagement increases parental involvement and parental involvement in the child's learning, parents will be able to support, broaden and deepen their child's knowledge and understanding.
Our home learning principles:
Home learning enables children to practice, apply and expand their skills and knowledge learned in school.
Home learning fosters interest and enthusiasm to inspire children's lives to learn.
Organization and personal responsibility are developed for decision making, learning.
Opportunities are provided to develop a range of skills in all areas of the curriculum in new and different contexts.
Home learning outcomes are always valuable, shared and celebrated in a wide variety of settings, which develop a sense of pride.
All tasks will be designed with open-ended results to promote individual learning.
Collaboration between children and their families is encouraged through meaningful engagement in the child's learning.
The partnership between home and school strengthens.
Quantity and frequency of home learning:
The main focus of home learning is to help your child become confident in reading, performing magic, writing, and mathematics. Home learning will follow a regular pattern each week for the group each year, with a focus on basic skills.

Specific guidance for parents about the nature and amount of homework can be found in the front of the homework book.
All children are expected to be able to read at home every day, even if they are able to read independently.
The spelling will be given on Monday and tested on the following Monday.
A home learning task to be returned the following Wednesday will be stuck in the homework book on Friday.
On this occasion, the home learning task will run for more than a week. In these examples, weekly assignments will be provided, which will work in the entire direction.
We ensure that all tasks set out are appropriate to the child's ability. Some children's tasks will be adapted to complete their own home learning.
Role of parents:
Parents and adults at home are essential for home learning. We encourage parents to make sure they are clear about home learning expectations and when it is going to happen. We encourage parents to share home learning with their child and decide in the most appropriate way to accomplish this. Children benefit from a positive distraction free environment in which to work. They benefit from their ability to work together with their parents to learn at home and / or discuss their progress. In some cases children can benefit from accessing the school home learning club. After the session parents can support their child through a discussion of their progress.
We encourage parents to discuss home teaching with the class teacher to clarify any issues related to home education.
